A Collaboration with Shropshire Petals
In July 2026, right in the middle of one of the summer’s most intense heatwaves, an incredible team of creatives and I came together with Shropshire Petals to create a photography workshop in the heart of their beautiful petal fields.
For those who don’t know, this is where the famous confetti, including the confetti used by the gorgeous Dua Lipa at her own wedding, is grown, picked and carefully curated. It felt like such a unique setting to bring a group of photographers together and create something truly special.
The team at Shropshire Petals first reached out to me after we met at a wedding conference in London. They were looking for support with the organisation, styling and design of a photography workshop within the fields, and together we began developing the vision for the day.
We spent time establishing what we wanted photographers to take away from the workshop, from the overall aesthetic and feel to the practical experience we wanted them to have. Most importantly, we wanted the day to feel accessible to both new and experienced photographers, giving everyone the opportunity to photograph something beautiful in a setting that was completely unique.
We were also incredibly lucky to have Viola Jay Photography host a morning workshop, sharing her experience and insight into photography and social media, as well as some of the secrets behind building her own successful business.
For the styled shoot itself, we wanted to create a collection of different environments that complemented the natural beauty of the fields. The overall design was a mix of Mediterranean inspired tablescapes and relaxed, boho styling, with the intention of showing photographers how they can make the most of their surroundings while incorporating local flowers, products and suppliers to create something memorable.
The Ceremony Set Up
The aisle setup was created by the amazing Zoe from Bloomi Florals, who designed a two metre curved floral arch filled with movement and texture.
Delphiniums and larkspur brought height and movement, while lisianthus, cosmos and ammi softened the overall design. We didn’t need to add too much to this aisle setup as the background spoke for itself and so Zoe knew exactly how to make the flowers feel like they were naturally apart of their surroundings.
The Boho Sweetheart Table
Zoe also created the florals for our intimate boho sweetheart table. For this setup, I wanted the table to feel as though it had been tucked away deep within the petal fields. We chose a patterned tablecloth that blended beautifully with the flowers surrounding it, while Zoe incorporated dried flowers from the Shropshire Petals collection to bring in pops of colour and further connect the design to the setting.
The tableware, hired from Tipples Event Catering, featured gold cutlery, gold rimmed plates and a beautiful blush napkin that complemented the relaxed boho aesthetic.
The stationery from Thoughtfully Wild Studio tied everything together, with intricate floral name cards and menus in soft blush pinks and pastel tones.
A Taste of the Mediterranean
Our second tablescape took us somewhere completely different.
Beth from Pheasant Field Flowers was responsible for creating the Mediterranean-inspired florals, and I wanted this setup to feel as though you had stumbled across a beautiful dinner table on a Greek or Italian island.
Luckily, the sunshine certainly helped us achieve the look!
A serpentine table and wooden cross-back chairs created the foundation, while the stunning Amalfi crockery from Tipples brought the Mediterranean influence to life.
We layered the table with flowing fabrics to mimic the movement of the ocean, pairing pale blue napkins with silver accents to keep the overall design feeling fresh, light and bright.
Beth created tall floral arrangements secured into pieces of driftwood, adding height while keeping the design connected to the natural surroundings. Using a combination of dried and fresh flowers from Shropshire Petals helped bring the whole concept together and created a lovely connection between the tablescape and the fields around us.
Once again, Thoughtfully Wild Studio’s stationery completed the look, this time with a beautiful blue ribbon that tied perfectly into the colour palette.
The finished setup genuinely felt like dining somewhere on the Mediterranean coast.
The Boho Seating Area
The final area we created was a relaxed, boho-inspired seating space.
The stunning wicker sofa and vintage chair from Hint of Vintage Hire were the perfect pieces for this setting, creating an inviting space that felt completely at home within the fields.
Beth created a cascading floral installation that quite literally appeared to blend into the flowers behind it.
For the photographers, this was a particularly fun area to shoot. The seating allowed them to experiment with different poses, compositions and angles, while the surrounding petal fields created a beautiful natural backdrop.
The Fashion & Beauty Team
None of the setups would have been complete without the incredible team of local suppliers who brought the fashion and beauty side of the shoot to life.
Lydia and Gel from Bride’s View supplied three incredible gowns, each chosen to complement a different setting.
Lucy wore a large tulle gown that made her look like a ballerina princess who had been dropped into the middle of a wildflower meadow.
Scarlett wore a slimline lace gown paired with a beautiful Chantilly lace veil, perfectly suited to the Italian inspired elements of the shoot.
Rosie wore the most gorgeous boho gown, complete with balloon sleeves and lightweight chiffon, which fitted seamlessly into the relaxed styling of the petal fields.
Our male model, Juan, wore a smart and traditional tuxedo from Kings Fashion, bringing a classic element to the shoot.
Our make-up artist, Helena Restall, created three stunning beauty looks, while hair stylist Emmie Victoria worked with each model’s natural hair type and created styles that complemented both their individual features and the gowns they were wearing.
The Jewellery Details
The jewellery was beautifully designed and selected by the incredible Jemma Bowers.
Lucy’s pearl necklace was a particular showstopper, while the rings were captured beautifully by the photographers throughout the day. They even had the opportunity to experiment with photographing the rings in different locations around the petal fields, creating a really varied collection of detail images.
A Celebration of Local Creativity
The day was hot (very hot) but it was an incredible success.
Photographers had the opportunity to shoot across all of the different setups, work with the models in a variety of locations and, of course, have plenty of fun experimenting with the beautiful confetti provided by Shropshire Petals.
It was such a privilege to be asked by the team at Shropshire Petals to help bring this workshop to life. What I loved most about the project was the opportunity to demonstrate just how much can be achieved when you look around you and choose to work with the incredible local talent, products and suppliers on your doorstep.
From the flowers grown right there in the fields, to the stationery, styling, fashion, beauty, jewellery and hire companies, the day was a true celebration of local creativity.
And, ultimately, that was what I wanted photographers to take away from the workshop: you don’t always need to look further afield to create something extraordinary. Sometimes, the most beautiful inspiration is right on your doorstep.
